September 12, 2023 I Rock Hill, SC – Rock Hill Symphony recently received more than
$118,000 in multi-year grants and gifts. This amount is the combined total of grants and
gifts from the South Carolina Arts Commission, Williams and Fudge Foundation, Scentsy
Corp., Sweet Repeat Charitable Foundation and the York County Foundation.
These funds will help offset specific general operating expenses over the next three sea-
sons of the symphony as well as provide support for the Rock Hill Symphony’s free Family
Education Concert Series.
This year’s free Family Education Series is Adventures in Classical Music. The series will
open with a Family Concert at Sullivan Middle School Auditorium on Sunday, October 29
at 4 pm. The concert is free and open to all families across York County and surrounding
areas.
Multiple performances of the education conert, in partnership with Rock Hill School
District, will also be held on Monday, October 30 reaching all 5th graders in the Rock Hill
School District.
All of the concerts will be conducted by Rock Hill Symphony’s Music Director/Conduc-
tor, Christopher James Lees.
